Multi Award winning UK Jazz Saxophonist Alan Barnes will be performing with Dave Cottle, Aidan Thorne & Mark O'Connor. Sponsored by Julie James AM

12.15 pm Julie James officially welcoming everybody followed by Dafydd Elis Thomas -Minister for Culture, Media and Sport, Professor Jen Wilson – Swansea Jazz History and Culture and Dave Cottle - Creative Director, Swansea International Jazz Festival.

Dave will speak about the passion he has for promoting Jazz to new and different sections of the country. Dave will be joined by top class jazz artists as they provide a snapshot of their music and their bid to keep Jazz live and alive in Wales.

Professor Ian Walsh will also give a speech on how the University has contributed and continues to contribute to culture across the city.

Following this event, Alan Barnes will be leading a Jam Session at Swansea Jazzland from 7.30pm.
