WESTON STUDIO

Tank and the Bangas + Moonchild Sanelly

Tickets (max 8 seats per booking):
£14

Age Guidance: 14+ (No under 2s).

Selling out shows all over Europe and the U.S with their flawless marriage of rap, spoken word and neo-soul, and winners of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert in 2017, this colourful tribe of artists has a rare knack for combining various musical styles into one dazzling, cohesive whole.

Rummaging through their sound like a thrift store hippie, combining the various musical technique among the Bangas, coupled with the instilling play on lyrics from the lead vocalist Tarriona "Tank" Ball; Tank and The Bangas have quilted a unique sound that singles them as one of the most distinctive groups to come out of New Orleans.

Be prepared for a colourful, playful gig that will leave you full to the brim with happiness. They will simply blow you away.

Moonchild Sanelly describes her bold style as ghetto funk, a combination of music, fashion and dance. Not holding back any punches, she tackles issues of female empowerment in her lyrics. Originally hailing from Port Elizabeth, the singer first made a name for herself in the Durban poetry and music scene before relocating to Johannesburg. Fusing elements of experimental electronic, afro-punk and edgy-pop with hints of her strong kwaito, hip hop and jazz background, her sound and message is unique.

She lead the biggest track of the summer with an unforgettable verse ‘please call future maybe...’ arguably the most memorable verses produced by DJ Maphorisa & DJ Tira featuring fellow female artist Busiswa. 2018 rolls in with 2 music videos & singles released before Feb 2018 both exclusive to MTV Base Africa.

Tank and the Bangas

Tocynnau (8 sedd ar y mwyaf i bob archeb):
£14

Canllaw Oed: 14+ (Dim plant dan 2 oed).

Maen nhw wedi denu torfeydd ar hyd a lled Ewrop a'r Unol Daleithiau gyda'u cyfuniad di-fai o rap, barddoniaeth lafar a neo-soul, yn ogystal ag ennill Gwobr 'Tiny Desk Concert' yr NPR yn 2017. Mae gan y grŵp lliwgar hwn o artistiaid dalent brin wrth ddod â sawl arddull gerddorol wahanol ynghyd mewn un perfformiad cyflawn, gwefreiddiol.

Mae'r sŵn yn un potes rhyfeddol, wrth i'r Bangas gyfuno technegau cerddorol amrywiol ochr yn ochr â geiriau clyfar gan y prif leisydd, Tarriona "Tank" Ball. Yn wir, mae gan Tank and the Bangas sain unigryw dros ben sy'n golygu eu bod yn un o grwpiau mwyaf arbennig New Orleans.

Byddwch yn barod am gig chwareus a lliwgar a fydd yn eich gadael yn wên i gyd. Mewn gair, fe fydd y band yn eich gwefreiddio.

Ffync y geto yw disgrifiad Moonchild Sanelly ei hun o’i harddull feiddgar, arddull sy’n cyfuno cerddoriaeth, ffasiwn a dawns. Heb flewyn ar dafod, mae hi’n rhoi sylw i faterion sy’n ymwneud â grymuso menywod yn ei geiriau. O Port Elizabeth y daw’r gantores yn wreiddiol, a denodd sylw i ddechrau ar sîn farddoniaeth a cherddoriaeth Durban, cyn symud i Johannesburg. Gan gyfuno elfennau o bop heriol, affro-pync a cherddoriaeth electronig arbrofol, ynghyd â dylanwadau ei chefndir kwaito, hip hop a jazz cryf, mae ei sain a’i neges yn unigryw.

Ganddi hi y cafwyd trac mwya'r haf gyda'r geiriau bythgofiadwy, ‘please call future maybe...’. Dyma o bosibl y gwaith mwyaf nodedig i DJ Maphorisa a DJ Tira ei gynhyrchu, a hwnnw’n cynnwys yr artist benywaidd Busiswa hefyd. Yn 2018 cafwyd dau fideo a dwy sengl cyn mis Chwefror, a’r rheini’n ymddangos yn arbennig ar MTV Base Africa.
