We are very pleased to annouce that on Thursday 14th December, Sound Diplomacy will be visiting Cardiff to finalise details with Cardiff Council to start work on the music strategy for our city.
Sound Diplomacy are the global leaders of the Music Cities movement and will work with Cardiff to assess the value of Cardiff’s music industry and its ecology, developing a strategy to ensure our music scene can flourish and expand like never before.
Sound Diplomacy will engage with every aspect of Cardiff's music scene with the aim of developing a strategy which will help develop a healthy music ecosystem to create vibrant exciting communities, international profile and to increase the value of all music in Cardiff.
Venues, musicians and our music will be at the heart of this and it is wonderful to see that our music being is recognised for its vital role it plays in people's lives.
Please come along to our celebratory launch event. The leader of Cardiff Council, Cllr Huw Thomas will be speaking on the plans for music development in the The Moon Cardiff at 7pm on Thursday 14th December. Jo Stevens, MP for Cardiff Central, will speak on the importance of protecting live music venues and music investment. Also Cllr Peter Bradbury, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, will be speaking on live music in Cardiff
But more importantly, we will celebrating our street, our music and the strength of our communities with a proper Womanby Street Shindig late into the night.
Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate as we work to protect and support our live music so it can truly thrive. Come along and have a great time with us all.
